The interface typeface for the tactical shooter Caliber has become a key element of the game's visual system, covering in-game screens, as well as the website and marketing materials, forming a unified typographic foundation for the brand.

It was designed as a strict and neutral grotesque, suitable for an interface where functionality is paramount. As part of the project, four weights of varying intensity were developed, providing flexibility in different interface scenarios.

Since the typeface had to replace a previously used working version without requiring interface adjustments, it was crucial to maintain the exact metrics and proportions of the original. This allowed the new typeface to be implemented without the need for adaptation, which is critical for complex UI systems where any deviation can be significant.

Additionally, the development process took into account rendering specifics on screens with low resolution, requiring special attention to clarity, legibility, and stability in various gaming scenarios.

The creation of a custom typeface allowed the client to reduce costs on licensing third-party typography, while ensuring full control over their own typographic identity throughout the entire Caliber ecosystem.
